IPAF & PASMA Training FAQs FAQs
IPAF (the International Powered Access Federation) and PASMA (the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association) are the two industry bodies whose cards site supervisors expect to see for work at height. IPAF training covers powered access platforms (scissor lifts, boom lifts and other MEWPs) and issues the PAL Card. PASMA training covers mobile aluminium towers and issues the PASMA card. Both cards are valid for five years. This FAQ section answers the questions we are asked most often about MEWP categories (1B, 3A, 3B), harness awareness, the PAL Card and PASMA card, refreshers and on-site delivery.
