The NPORS N609 Winching & Recovery course is designed to provide operators with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely carry out winching and recovery operations across a range of industries, including construction, forestry, utilities, and off-road environments. The course is suitable for both novice and experienced operators and focuses on safe working practices, planning recovery operations, and the correct use of winching equipment.
Delegates will learn how to identify hazards, inspect winching and recovery equipment, select appropriate recovery methods, calculate safe working loads, establish exclusion zones, communicate effectively with the recovery team, and carry out winching operations safely in accordance with current health and safety legislation. Training combines classroom-based theory with practical, hands-on exercises before a final theory and practical assessment.
On successful completion, candidates will achieve the NPORS N609 Winching & Recovery certification, demonstrating their competence to safely carry out winching and recovery operations using industry-recognised best practices.
